Maine Environment Links on Geology
Maine Geological Survey (http://www.state.me.us/doc/nrimc/mgs/mgs.htm) Very good and extensive website from the state agency for geology. Dozens of web pages on Maine geology. Much of the material is geared for students and teachers, and for adults who aren't professional geologists. Many of the pages include links to other sources, recommended readings, and places to visit. It's worth visiting the MGS web page regularly to see what the new "geological site of the month" is...more than 80 places in Maine have been covered since the feature began in 1997.
